Teeth Whitening Directions

Congratulations! You are on your way to a brighter smile. Please follow these directions for optimal whitening results.
  1. Brush teeth and floss.
  2. Place gel in trays by using a small amount along inside front of each tooth in the tray, using no more than 1/3 of the syringe each time.
  3. Place trays over teeth tapping them up into place.
  4. Run your finger along front of teeth, if there is excess gel removed with Q-tip or finger.
  5. Wear trays for at least 4 hours. You can wear them overnight. NO eating or drinking while trays are in.
  6. Remove trays (try not to swallow gel), rinse and brush teeth.
  7. Clean trays with cold water and a Q-tip or soft brush and store in case.
Results:
You should start to see results in 3-4 days and results may vary depending on your teeth. Whiten until you reach the desired shade. Maximum whitening typically occurs in 2-3 weeks.

Precautions:
Sensitivity is normal and is not permanent. If sensitivity becomes severe, stop whitening and call our office. We have a fluoride gel that helps with sensitivity and can be provided at no charge to you. If sensitivity is still not manageable, start to whiten every other day instead of daily. Keep your whitening trays in the case in a safe place. Pets have been known to chew on trays when left out.

Maintenance:
Daily food and drink intake, smoking and simple aging can start to cause your teeth to discolor. The newest research has shown that patients are able to maintain their new whitening color via whitening their teeth for one night every month. Call us if you need refill whitening syringes.
