Jason Tanoory, DMD, FAGD
Dr. Tanoory, or Jason as he prefers to be addressed by his patients and staff, moved to Canandaigua in 2001. After associateships in Philadelphia, PA, Rochester, NY and Penn Yan, NY, he opened Finger Lakes Dental Care in 2002. Dr. Jason received his higher education at the University of Dayton, in Ohio, where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Biochemistry. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He earned an Advanced Education in General Dentistry degree at The Eastman Dental Center in Rochester. In addition to Jason's formal education, he has completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education in the past 4 years. New York State requires only 20 hours per year. The spectrum of this advanced education ranges from Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Implant Placement, to Denture Therapy and Sedation Dentistry. Jason recently received a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. He also has a fellowship from The International Congress of Oral Implantology.

Jason is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Family Dentistry, the Monroe Dental Society, The Sedation Dentistry Association, Congress of Oral Implantology and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Jason has given lectures and assistance to educate fellow dentists on various topics from practice management to clinical skills. He has had several articles published in local newspapers, dental magazines, periodicals, and dental websites. In addition to helping/educating others in the field of dentistry, he is also active in the community, providing education on various dental topics at local businesses, retirement and senior homes, as well as presenting at primary schools throughout the Finger Lakes.

Jason is blessed with a wonderful wife, Kara, and five children, Anna, Olivia, Jack, CJ and Luke. They also have two Labrador retrievers, Dakota and Henry. His growing family lives in Canandaigua. .

Lindsey Cody, DDS
Dr. Lindsey Cody was born and raised in the Rochester area. After graduating from Victor Central School she attended the University at Buffalo for both her undergraduate and graduate studies with a bachelor's degree in biology and a doctorate of dental surgery. This was followed by a one year residency at the University of Rochester General Practice Residency Program at Strong Memorial Hospital. 

She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the NYS Dental Society, and the Seventh District Dental Society.

In her spare time Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family. She is also an avid gardener and is currently fixing up an old farm house she owns.

Kami Sobey, DDS
Dr. Kami was born and raised in Canandaigua. After graduating from Canandaigua Academy, Kami earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Rochester. She then worked for several years in sales, customer service, and in health care, before going back to school to pursue an advanced degree. As a married adult with children, Kami earned a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science from the University at Buffalo followed by a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. She then completed a General Practice Residency at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.  

Kami is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, The NYS Dental Society as well as the Seventh District Dental Society.

Kami and her husband Whit live in Canandaigua with their three children, Avery, Harper and Wilo. Kami and Whit are avid skiers and love being outside with their kids enjoying all four seasons of the beautiful Finger Lakes region.

Catherine Telehany, DDS
Dr. Cate graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine; her post-doctoral training was completed at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program. 

She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, New York State Dental Society and Seventh District Dental Society. 

Most of her free time is spent with family, friends and her energetic two year old chocolate lab Charlie. She enjoys playing tennis, refinishing furniture, and cooking. 

Dr. Cate strives to deliver high quality comprehensive dental care within the progressive, positive work environment at Finger Lakes Dental Care.

Amy Ells, Office Manager
Amy came to our office after completing her degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing from SUNY Fredonia. She has been a part of the Finger Lakes Dental team since 2008.

Amy is a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers and has been taking multiple classes over the past few years covering topics from inter-office communications to online marketing.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys crafting, traveling, and reading.

Megan Meek, Insurance Coordinator
Megan is our Insurance Coordinator. She has been with the office since 2004. Megan will assist you with understanding and maximizing your insurance benefits. When Megan isn't at Finger Lakes Dental Care helping our patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband Phil and her children Sylvia and Caleb.

Penney D'Antonio, Hygiene Coordinator
Penney comes to the Finger Lakes Dental team with 20 years of experience in financial and computer businesses. She has also worked as a medical office manager. These experiences give Penney a great background in customer support and service. Penney is our office Hygiene Coordinator; any time you need a cleaning scheduled or have a special request for an appointment with your hygienist Penney will assist you.

When not working with our patients at Finger Lakes Dental, Penney enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and their two dogs. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and all of the activities offered by living so close to Canandaigua Lake.

Doreen Schommer, Call Center Lead
Doreen is most often the first voice that you hear when you call our office. She has been in customer service and call center operations for 20 years. She handles all of our incoming phone calls and helps people schedule their appointments and can answer any question that you have. In her spare time she sells Thirty One Gifts, enjoys NASCAR and spending time with her family.

Pam Buchholz, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Pam is one of our Dental Assistants; she has been with our office since 2004. She is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. Pam has close to 20 years of dental experience with an impressive background that varies from oral surgery to sedation dentistry. She is CPR certified, certified by the Dental Assisting National Board, and is a member of the National Association of Dental Assistants. She attends an average of 50 hours of continuing education each year (the state only requires 12).

Pam has 2 kids; her son is in the Air Force and currently stationed in South Korea. He daughter is very active in school sports and activities. Pam has also been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 7 years. Pam has been designing jewelry and loves crafting of any kind.

Edith Byington, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Edith is one of our skilled Dental Assistants; she has been with the office since 2006. Edith is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. She has worked in the dental field since 1989, with advanced training and experience with children and orthodontics. Edith is also CPR certified.

When she isn't in the office assisting Dr. Jason and Dr. Wendy, she is busy at home with her husband and 2 children. She is also a member of the Prattsburgh Ambulance Corps. She enjoys doing cross stitching and gardening.

Annie Roxburgh – NYS Certified Dental Assistant 
Annie has been working at our office since 2013. She is a native of Canandaigua and has been in the dental field for over 25 years. She is CPR and AED certified and attends many continuing education classes throughout the year. When Annie isn’t working she is spending time with her daughter, Maggie, and two dogs, Buddy and Charlie. When she has some spare time she enjoys walking, drawing, reading and shopping.

Cassie Vose, Dental Assistant 
Cassie comes to our office with over 20 years of experience in the dental industry. She has been is CPR certified and has her DANB National certification. Not only is she a dental assistant but has been teaching others new to the field for many years. When Cassie isn’t working she loves spending time with her family, working on the house, or riding her bike on the Genesee Canal Trail. 

Jennifer Parish, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer has over 10 years of Dental Hygiene experience. She earned her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene and her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Care Administration. Jennifer has also earned her license to administer anesthesia and nitrous oxide. She continually reads hygiene and dental publications to research new products and services for our patients. Jennifer takes an average of 20 continuing education hours per year, which is double the New York State requirement.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband Mike and dogs.

Shelly Turner, Registered Dental Hygienist
Shelly is one of our highly qualified Dental Hygienists and has been with our office since 2003. Shelly has 19 years of experience in the dental field. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, is certified in Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide administration, and is CPR certified. Shelly attends and average of 20 hours of continuing education per year (well above the NYS requirement of 10 hours). Shelly is beginning to take classes to obtain her Master's degree in Dental Hygiene. 

In her spare time Shelly enjoys drawing, painting, reading, tennis, kayaking, and bike riding with her family.

Laurie Rowe – Registered Dental Hygienist
Laurie came to our office in 2014 after working in the dental hygiene field since 2009. She obtained two degrees from Monroe Community college; Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and an Advance Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She was then certified in anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration. She was also awarded the Johnson & Johnson Excellence in Healthcare Award. Outside of the office Laurie enjoys sending time with her husband and daughter and their two pets. 

Julie Zimmer – Registered Dental Hygienist 
Julie joined our office full time in 2015. With an AAS in Nutrition she worked as a Diet Technician before obtaining her AAS in Dental Hygiene. She is certified in Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide administration and is CPR/AED certified. She has over 20 years of experience in the dental field. As a lifelong community volunteer she has worked with the homeless, special needs, hospice and geriatric populations. Julie lives in the Bristol Hills and enjoys tending her organic vegetable and honey bee farm. She is an avid skier, snow shoes, hikes, swims and is a music lover. Julie enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Nicole Shoemaker, Sterilization Tech
Nicole is a newly certified dental assistant and has been in customer service industry for many years. She is now our office sterilization tech. She keeps the office up to date in finding the most advanced sterilization techniques and equipment for our office. When she is not a Finger Lakes Dental Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also enjoys reading, playing tennis and going for walks.

Geoff Tucker, Lab Technician
Geoff is our in house lab technician. With over twenty years of experience he is a master of his craft. Thanks to Geoff we can do same day denture repairs and adjustments. Along the same lines we can now complete same day night guards, retainers and custom whitening trays. Geoff enjoys soccer, horses and traveling.
